Generator Idea
After reading Kate Compton's post about generators, I became attached to the idea of making a VR based generator experience with a basic set of functions for the user, similar to a sandbox. I want to create an experience where the user can exercise limitless creativity because they're offered a few main actions to do. A great example is Minecraft, where the basic actions are to break, place, and craft. I'm interested in the idea of doing this for VR since its lacking experiences like this. The closest experience so far is Gorilla tag, where the users use their knuckles as their locomotion controls and have to touch another player to tag them. Thinking about the basic actions right now is making me pretty stuck, so below are two environments I believe I would want to base the context of my generator in:
1. 3D scan a hallway at school and build a point-of-view experience of a student with social anxiety who is trying to navigate the class schedule while avoiding generated anxieties
2. A city builder-esque game where you witness the transformation of a city's skyline and its silhouette over time. The generators I want to have are random events that force the user to modify the skyline. I want to have multiple eras of the city, to help capture what the city looked like at a point in time.
